I build the whole thing.

Architecture, interface, infrastructure, brand. I don't hand work off — I finish it, ship it, and then keep it running.

How I work

2020 — 2026
I own the whole surface.

Most engineers stop at the API. Most designers stop at the mockup. I take a product from the first sketch to the thing running in production with real users, and I don't need a team to do it.

I build systems, not screens.

Design tokens, scheduling engines, ingest pipelines, brand kits. If it has to hold up under load — technical or visual — I'd rather build the system that makes a thousand of them than hand-make one.

I know what good looks like.

Two years leading engineering at a national broadcaster, two and a half shipping to millions at Ancestry, and a film school habit of not letting anything out that isn't finished.

Engineering

Nine products. All of them mine, from the architecture to the wordmark.

Everything here runs in production. The colour of this room is the colour of whatever you're standing in front of.

Memrey2025 — NOW

An AI archive that gives a lifetime of photographs its memory back.

Ingest, understand and retrieve decades of images by the thing you actually remember about them — not by a tag nobody wrote.

Rotavox2024 — NOW

Scheduling software for radio, rebuilt from nothing.

The planner, the engine, the library, the reporting. One system, one person, and a real network running on it every day.

Plan the whole trip, not just book a flight.

Discovery-first travel across destinations, hotels, flights and cars — one planner and one shareable trip, instead of twelve tabs and a spreadsheet.

The part you can watch.

Shadowcat isn't a hobby sitting next to the engineering. It's the same instinct pointed at a different surface — control the whole chain, and don't let anything out that isn't finished.

The Bolt · Night Signal2024 — NOW

A radio network built end to end.

Three stations. The software that runs them, the sound that comes out of them, and the brand wrapped around them. This is the one that lives in both halves of my work.

I write it, shoot it, cut it, grade it and score it.

Then I build the site it lives on. Both halves of my work are judged the same way: does it hold your attention, and does it hold up on a second pass.

Let's build something that lasts.

I'm open to senior and staff full-stack roles, and to the occasional contract that's actually interesting. Tell me what you're building. I answer everything.
